WHY WE EXIST
Current Challenges Facing Veterans
NACV highlights ongoing systemic issues affecting veterans, such as limited access to timely, high-quality healthcare, ineffective transition programs, high rates of homelessness, unemployment, substance dependence, mental illness, and suicide. Many of the most at-risk veterans are those who served fewer than four years, were not career military, and have fallen through the cracks of existing programs. These problems persist despite decades of effort from the VA and veteran organizations, underscoring the need for new strategies.
